Creating a Tinder bot using artificial intelligence

Why this project?

I first think about this idea when I was studying artificial intelligence in a bootcamp. We had to do a final project of our choice to apply what we learned and to face real case. We joked about this project with some classmates, based on the fact that dating apps are boring and that it could be fun to automate it and much funnier to do than doing those image classification exercices of dogs and cats found everywhere on the web.

I finally didn’t make it during the bootcamp, mostly because I had only two weeks to make this and my IA and programming knowledge wasn’t very extensive but also because I didn’t see myself explaining to my girlfriend at the time that I needed to install Tinder and swipe thousands of profiles to train an AI bot that will do it for me in an automated way. 😂

Recently, I wanted to increase my skills on AI, especially on computer vision, deep learning and learn more on convolutional neural network, so I decided to unearth this project and take the opportunity to write an article on my digital garden about the process of making an AI like this.
